What is the WHFN New York?
The Wharton Hedge Fund Network (WHFN) was founded in 2005 as an affinity group of the Wharton Club of New York. The group aims to bring together Whartonites active in the greater hedge fund community, which includes professionals working at hedge funds, hedge fund allocators, lawyers, accountants, prime brokers and other service providers active in the hedge fund space.
Events are by invitation only and limited to Wharton undergraduates and/or Wharton MBA's who are employed in the hedge fund space. (We do not permit attendance of alumni who are looking to find a job in the space, as we want to keep events from being overrun by job-seekers.)
What is the Next Event?
Our 7th event will focus on “Approaching the New Frontier – Where Reinsurance and Hedge Funds meet”. We have selected a panel of specialists to layout out the various ways hedge funds invest in the reinsurance space and why.
The event will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at a midtown location (The exact location will be communicated shortly after signing up.) We will not be able to permit walk-ins.
The itinerary is:
6.00 - 6.40: Registration,
6.40 - 6.45: Opening remarks and welcome,
6.45 - 7.15: Panel on reinsurance and hedge funds,
7.15 - close: Networking with food and drinks.
$20 for WCNY members and recent grads,
$50 for Wharton grads who aren't yet WCNY members. (Year-long membership is only
