Latest Wharton Research on How to Lead Growth

Wharton Entrepreneurs Education and Resource Network (WE-EARN)

Help the Wharton Entrepreneurs Education and Resource Network (WE-EARN) of WCNY launch an "intrapreneurs" interest group for people driven by acting entrepreneurial, growing businesses and leading innovations within larger organizations. If you are an "intrapreneur," or are interested in the topic, we need your ideas and involvement.

Join us for an informative discussion with Professor George Day, Co-Director of the Wharton Mack Center of Innovation Management, who will share unexpected findings from his latest research into organic growth leaders – firms that produce highly competitive levels of organic growth. He will explain the four factors that set growth leaders apart from average performers and growth laggards and engage us in a conversation of the implications for intrapreneurs. We will explore issues like:
  • Is it more important to invest in talent or R&D?
  • What are the key cultural norms that distinguish growth leaders?
  • What role do rewards and incentives play in encouraging innovative behavior and growth?
Professor George Day, a Geoffrey T. Boisi Professor of marketing at Wharton Business School and the co-director of Wharton's Mack Institute for Innovation Management. Professor Day has authored 18 books in the areas of marketing and strategic management, the most recent of which is “Innovation Prowess:  Leadership Strategies for Accelerating Growth.” He is the former chair of the American Marketing Association and has served as a consultant for numerous corporations, such as GE, IBM, Metropolitan Life, Unilever, E.I. DuPont de Nemours, W.L. Gore and Associates, Coca-Cola, Boeing, LG Corp., Best Buy, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and Medtronic.
