Raising Capital

**SOLD OUT...Waitlist Available**
Wharton Entrepreneurs Education and Resource Network (WE-EARN)

This event has sold out.  A waitlist is available.  Please complete the form on the right with your email and best contact number.  You will receive an email or phone call should a slot open up.

Our next event, Raising Capital, will be comprised of two parts:

First, Richard Luftig (W’86) will discuss capital raising for private companies.

Among other things, you’ll learn about:
  • the investment process in private companies for different types of investors;
  • how larger investors source and evaluate transactions;
  • sources of financing often overlooked by early-stage companies;
  • different forms of investment (e.g., equity, debt, convertible notes);
  • investment considerations relating to factors such as size, industry, geography, etc.; and
  • deal mechanics (e.g., due diligence, term sheet, closing, etc.)
Second, Richard will critique audience members’ investment pitches and/or pitch decks (and, time-permitting, illustrative samples).  This is a great opportunity to learn how to sharpen your pitch so you’re ready for game day!  We’ll keep the event interactive and get plenty of audience feedback as well.

Richard is Managing Partner at Castle Placement, which raises capital and arranges loans for early and mid-stage companies from over 2,000 VC/PE investors and over 1,000 lenders.  Earlier in his career Richard served as a Director at CSFB, Managing Director-Principal at Bear Stearns and Managing Director at Ivy Asset Management.

As always, there will be opportunities for your questions.

If you’d like to have your investment pitch, which should be 3-5 minutes, and/or pitch deck critiqued, please email me at weearn@whartonny.com.
