Innovation During Times of Crisis: A Virtual Discussion

Special Invitation from The Wharton Club of Boston & The Mack Institute for Innovation Management

Join Wharton alumni on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 7 pm for a timely and engaging fireside chat virtual discussion with Prof. Saikat Chaudhuri to talk about Innovation During Times of Crisis. Professor Chaudhuri is the Executive Director at The Mack Institute for Innovation Management and has extensive background in innovations among incumbent firms.

During this interactive event, Professor Chaudhuri will present Mack Institute’s research findings to discuss how organizations can reprioritize and find opportunities to innovate in periods of turmoil. Beyond survival, firms need to invest actively in innovation-related activities to lead the rest. The goal of the event is to create an opportunity for alumni to learn how best to approach innovation strategies during times of crisis, as well as to learn how firms are employing tactics for resilience and success.

Professor Chaudhuri will draw upon his rich background of investigating challenges, effective management practices, and understanding operational drivers of performance in innovation-targeted transactions among leading telecommunications, software, and other high-technology companies.

Following the presentation, Neal Piliavin, WG ’80, who is a former technology executive at Microsoft, HubSpot and Sonos, will engage Dr. Chaudhuri in a fireside chat and pose questions from meeting participants.

The Mack Institute is one of the largest research initiatives at Wharton and serves as a global network for corporations, researchers, faculty, and students. Through a collaborative and cross-disciplinary approach to the study of innovation management in established firms, the institute develops practical tools for pressing contemporary business challenges and facilitates networks among corporations and university resources. Extending this network to alumni, Mack Institute is presenting this fireside chat to Wharton Alumni Clubs around the world to facilitate collaboration among our world-class scholars and business leaders.
