Reports to Vice President, Marketing and Communications

The Division:
The Marketing and Communications Division is responsible for membership, membership benefits and for developing, coordinating and maintaining all communications with members including committees responsible for sponsorship, membership, Club website and communications. This Division manages the Club newsletter, the membership directory through the school, the website, the Club’s dues structure and membership benefits. It is also responsible for ensuring a cohesive message for all member communication vehicles. This division is responsible for creating communications and services for the membership that will ensure a high level of member retention and for bringing new members into the club. Since continuing to attract new members is vital for the survival and prosperity of the alumni network, it is perhaps the most important function of the chapter.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Copywriter will help support the Marketing and Communications Division by crafting creative, compelling communications that capture the attention of our 30,000 alumni members. We are looking for a true wordsmith with real-world experience writing marketing copy. As the Club Copywriter, you will develop email blasts, print ads, social posts and other marketing materials that appeal to a multi-generational audience of highly intelligent, highly educated and highly successful alumni. This is a great opportunity not only to bulk up your writing portfolio, but to have your work seen by an incredibly well-connected audience with whom you share a very meaningful affiliation.

All volunteers must be supporting members of the Wharton Club of New York. The type of person would be most suited for the position: an organized business/marketing professional who is looking for a challenging volunteer position that will benefit the entire membership of the Club. Volunteer must have exceptional organizational and people skills, supported by strong technical skills using Microsoft Office products. We are looking for people who have the time to give to the Club.

Time Commitment:
Time will vary throughout the year, but it will be approximately 2-4 hours per week on average.
