Joseph Scoby

Joseph Scoby, Private Investor
Joe began his career with O'Connor & Associates in 1987 and became a Managing Director in 1993.  From 1995 to 1999, Joe was Joint Head of US Equities at UBS Investment Bank, which included proprietary trading and sell side businesses.

Joe launched the O'Connor hedge funds in June of 2000 which he led until July 2010, except for 2008.  These funds AuM are approximately $7 billion and the capabilities include long -short equity, macro, quantitative equity, and relative value/ event driven across the capital structure.  During the same period, Joe has led the funds of funds businesses at UBS, which have often been ranked as the world's largest.  Through most of 2008, Joe served on the Group Executive Board of UBS as its Group Chief Risk Officer to help UBS navigate the financial crisis.

Joe recently left UBS.

Joe has a BS from Wharton School and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, both earned in 1987 with honors.

Joe serves on the Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board; the Board of Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Chicago's After School Matters Board.  He also founded the St. Joseph's club which serves meals to immigrant families in Chicago.
