WHFN: Opportunities in Mortgages
What is the Wharton Hedge Fund Network?
The Wharton Hedge Fund Network (WHFN) was founded in 2005 as an Affinity Group of the Wharton Club of New York (WCNY). The group aims to bring together Wharton alumni active in the greater hedge fund community, which includes professionals working at hedge funds, hedge fund allocators, and dedicated service providers.
Events are by invitation only and limited to Wharton undergraduates and/or Wharton MBA's who are employed in the hedge fund space. For more information on WHFN and past events, please visit the Wharton Hedge Fund Network page.
What is the Next Event?
The 4th event of 2011 features a conversation with David Warren, CIO of the Brevan Howard Credit Catalysts Fund, and Julia Mord, Vice President of Manager Selection for AI International, a family office. Between the recent Bank of America settlement and the government’s attempt to sell the Maiden Lane portfolio, there have been significant risks and opportunities this year in mortgages. David and Julia will discuss the current market environment and opportunity set in the mortgage space. There will be an opportunity for Q&A.
The event will be held Wednesday, August 17th at a Midtown location. (The exact location will be communicated shortly after signing up.) We will not be able to permit walk-ins, replacements or guests.
The itinerary is:
6.00 - 6.40pm: Registration with food and drinks,
6.40 - 6.45pm: Opening remarks and welcome,
6.45 - 7.30pm: Discussion on opportunities in mortgages
7.30pm - close: Networking with food and drinks.
$95/yr Join/Renew Membership.
