Now Accepting Applicants: High School Volunteer Summer Internship Program
For rising high school sophomores and juniors. Deadline to apply is Friday, March 28, 2014.
The Wharton Club of New York 2014 High School Volunteer Summer Internship Program is now accepting applicants.
The program is designed for rising high school sophomores and juniors to work as a group on a number of business projects and will take place during July and August.
Prior projects have included developing benefits and services for the membership of the WCNY; creating a speaker series targeted at senior Alumni; and cataloging best practices of other university alumni associations.
Through a weekly meeting in midtown Manhattan, phone conversations and electronic media students will learn entrepreneurial and communication skills, gain hands on business experience and have interaction with an array of business people within in a friendly atmosphere. This will look excellent on their college application.
Time commitment is flexible. Other than the weekly meeting the students will determine when, where and how much they do together. This is designed to be a fun, interactive, and hands on volunteer learning experience.
The selected students will have high academic achievement, excellent communication skills, creativity and the ability to work unsupervised in a group environment. Graduates of this program currently attend (or have been accepted into) Wharton, Penn, Princeton, UC Berkeley, NYU Stern, University of Richmond, Penn State Schreyer Honors College, Cornell, Hopkins, and Stanford (so far).
Interested students should be apply by sending their qualifications, connection to Wharton (this is a program for Wharton and Penn legacies), and something interesting about themselves to Gabriela Sanchez.
Deadline to apply is Friday, March 28, 2014.
