Join the Career Development Committee and the Non-Profit Affinity Group for an interactive evening with Inspiring Capital on the topic: "Too Good to Be True? MBAs Changing the World".

It's not just recent grads who want their job to provide more than a paycheck. Or who are increasingly frustrated by the lack of sustainability for the nonprofits they care about. Many of us are seeking more fulfilling work and/or ways to be ‘more than money’ to our favorite causes.

Luckily, the social sector (nonprofits, and increasingly for-purpose and for-profit enterprises) is also hungry for business talent to help them survive, get more efficient, and grow. These organizations are hiring more and more MBAs, or at least engaging board members more actively to help with financial planning, revenue models, and other strategic challenges. Nonetheless, most of us probably remember at least one thwarted attempt to blend our business savvy with advancing a good cause.

Inspiring Capital’s mission is to bridge this divide between high-potential social ventures and purpose-driven business professionals. They’ll share a case with us as a way for Club members to explore ways that our Wharton skills and experience can be used to advance a cause more efficiently and sustainably.

The IC team includes Wharton's first Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence, Diana Ayton-Shenker, as well as other MBAs with diverse background including international development, investment research, entrepreneurship, and microfinance.
