Hedge Fund 'State of the Union'

Moderator - Anurag Bhardwaj, CFA, Managing Director and Global Head of Hedge Fund Consulting, Barclays
Anurag Bhardwaj is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Hedge Fund Consulting at Barclays, based in New York. His group develops and publishes content pieces on industry topics, leveraging its industry relationships, and employing both primary and secondary research. The group also assists hedge fund clients in addressing business issues by taking on consulting engagements with these clients.
Anurag joined the team from Barclays Capital’s Strategy and Planning group, where he worked closely with senior business leaders on strategic projects for the firm. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Anurag was a Senior Vice President in the Corporate Strategy group at Lehman Brothers where, among other projects, he led the successful spin-outs of two hedge funds (R3 Capital and One William Street). Anurag joined Lehman Brothers from McKinsey & Company where he was a Senior Engagement Manager. In a previous life, Anurag was an FX Trader at American Express Bank and ANZ Bank. Anurag holds an MBA degree from The Wharton School with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Management, a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from NIT India, and is a CFA charter holder since 2005.

Cedric Fan, CFA, Head of Hedge Fund Research at Russell Investments
Cedric Fan leads a global team of analysts based in NY, Seattle, and London that establishes and maintains ranks on a wide variety of hedge fund strategies. He chairs the hedge fund research committee and is a core member of the portfolio management committee at Russell. Cedric was previously a Managing Director at Bear Stearns with responsibility for leading its fixed income prime brokerage business, and before that he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a Financial Analyst. He holds received a BS, with distinction, in Economics (Mathematical Emphasis) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MA in Economics from New York University.

Leslie Lake, Managing Director at Invus Financial Advisors
Leslie Lake is a founding partner of Invus Financial Advisors, LLC., a hedge fund advisory firm founded in 2006 which manages $6 billion. Prior to founding Invus Financial Advisors, Leslie was a managing director of The Invus Group, a $4 billion private equity firm. While at The Invus Group, she managed the $1 billon internal hedge fund of funds business. Prior to joining Invus, Leslie was the external chief investment officer to the Mitchell Kapor Family (founder of Lotus 1-2-3). While acting in her CIO position, she was solely responsible for developing and implementing the investment strategy for the family's liquid investments. Prior to this, she was the executive vice president and managing director of Cofinam, Inc. She began her career as an analyst with Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises. Leslie holds a B.A. in Economics from Simmons College.

Andy Adams, Managing Director, Investor Relations, Capula Investment US LP
Andrew Adams is a managing director and member of the U.S. investor relations team at Capula Investment US LP. Previously, Andy was at Deutsche Bank within their hedge fund derivative sales & trading desk in London. Prior to that, he worked in Barclays Capital's FX structuring team where he helped to design algorithmic trading strategies and derivative based trade ideas to both long only and hedge fund clients. He is a chartered engineer and previously served as an engineering officer in the British Army. He received a B Eng (Honours) in Electronic Systems Engineering from Cranfield University in 2002
and an MSc in Finance from London Business School in 2006.
