Wharton Gets Hands-On With Fine Chocolate

This past December, a "dream team" of founders opened Voilà Chocolat, a unique place where everyone -- not only highly trained chocolatiers -- can experience the fun and magic of crafting beautiful, delicious chocolates with friends, family and colleagues while learning and applying traditional, artisanal chocolatiering techniques.

Bojan Stoyanov WG'99 (CFO & Chief Cacao Bean Counter) and Elaine Boxer WG'02 (Head of Mmmmarketing) formed a core part of this dream team, along with the nationally acclaimed Executive Pastry Chef and Master Chocolatier formerly of Jacques Torres Chocolate, a lead Chocolate Scientist (yes that's really his job title) from Hershey's, the former head of
creative design for crafts chain Make Meaning, and Founder and Chief Cacao Nut who previously had founded the first successful American-style confectionery company in China.

In just 4 months since its opening, the Voilà Chocolat experience has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, Fox 5 News, NBC New York Live, The New York Post, Star Magazine, and numerous culinary and trend-spotting blogs.

Now it's Wharton's turn! The dream team of Voilà Chocolat invite the Wharton Club of New York to experience this unique and delicious concept -- hands-on -- at an exclusive WCNY event on Monday May 11 at 6:30pm.
  • Socialize with other Wharton alums while learning the secrets of working with fine tempered chocolate
  • Make, customize, and decorate your own chocolates to bring home with you -- to share with your family, give as a gift, impress your colleagues, or just to gobble up before anyone else gets to have them
  • Sample Voilà Chocolat's handmade, artisanal, hot chocolate varieties -- which Zagat featured this winter as one of the "most interesting hot chocolates in New York."
  • Enjoy an informal discussion and Q&A with Stoyanov, Boxer and the team about their business concept and plans for growing Voilà Chocolat beyond store #1.
