Managing Partner, JBK Partners
President, McNulty Foundation
Anne Welsh McNulty is the co-founder and managing partner of JBK Partners, with businesses including investment management and a private philanthropic foundation which is focused on leadership development and social change. Before starting JBK Partners, she was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs and a senior executive of the Goldman Sachs Hedge Fund Strategies Group.
As a woman who has broken barriers in becoming a leader in her field, Anne is an enthusiastic advocate for women’s leadership. She actively supports initiatives that increase the representation of women in leadership positions, and build conscious and inclusive environments that enable women to flourish. Not only has she done this throughout her career as an executive, but also through the McNulty Foundation’s programs focused on propelling young women towards leadership roles in their fields. Anne spurred the creation of an Institute for Women's leadership at Villanova University, as well as the McNulty Scholars programs at St. Joseph’s University and Hunter College supporting women in STEM.
Under her leadership, the McNulty Foundation has established several other key initiatives that support individuals who strive to make a difference. The John P. McNulty Prize, created to celebrate her late husband's legacy of leadership, is given in partnership with the Aspen Institute and recognizes the extraordinary success of global leaders solving some of the world’s most intractable challenges. The newly named McNulty Leadership Program at the Wharton School is pushing the boundaries of traditional education in the fields of leadership and teamwork and Anne’s support has catalyzed new strategic initiatives to expand the program’s audience and offerings.
Anne serves on the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute, and on the Board of Overseers at the Wharton School. She is a former Trustee at Villanova University, and a member of the Advisory Council for Harvard Kennedy School’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Child Mind Institute in New York. Anne is a Trustee of the Naples Winter Wine Festival benefiting children's charities in Collier County, Florida.
Anne earned her MBA in Finance & Insurance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated as valedictorian from Villanova University. Anne's three children, Johnny, Brynne and Kevin are all proud graduates of the University of Pennsylvania, and her daughter Brynne is a graduate of Wharton. She maintains strong connections with her alma maters, and continues to serve as a role model to aspiring women leaders.
