A Conversation with Philippe Soussand On How Luxury Brands Maintain Their Leadership

The Wharton Retail Network of Fashion and Speaker Series Committee invite you to join Philippe Soussand, principal of Soussand Associates, for champagne and an informative and exciting round table conversation on the world of luxury fashion.

Philippe will share his experience and insights into key elements enabling luxury brands to maintain their leadership over time.

Among points he will delve into are:
  • Historical perspectives
  • Examples of how brands adapt to their times
  • How capital structure can be an accelerator or impediment to their growth and longevity.
Following his talk, we will have a question and answer period followed by a networking session.

Upon his graduation from Wharton in 1981, Philippe held a few financial position before joining the world of luxury goods in 1990 when he became the CFO of CHRISTIAN DIOR in New York.

He moved on to LOUIS VUITTON USA in 1994 first as COO and then as president for Latin America. He subsequently was president for the Americas of a number of other fashion brands of LVMH.

In 2002, he created his consulting firm …where fashion meets business. Among his clients you will find many well known international fashion and luxury brands as well as companies or organizations that need to know about the luxury and fashion industries.
