Speakers
Jody Kriss, Founder and Principal
Jody founded Kriss Capital LLC in 2019 to take an entrepreneurial and creative approach to value-add, opportunistic real estate lending and investing.  Prior to founding Kriss Capital, Mr. Kriss developed eleven ground-up and gut-rehab residential projects in NYC valued at over $250 million with a focus on historic properties such as the gut rehabilitation and re-use of three landmarked row-houses on the Upper West Side. He also acquired and sold a portfolio of approximately 500,000 SF of multi-family and commercial properties focused in and around New Haven, CT.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Kriss was a partner in several large-scale developments in NYC and South Florida including a 47-story ground-up hotel development in Manhattan now known as The Dominick. Prior to that he was an investment banker at APC Realty Advisors focusing on raising debt and equity for middle-market real estate developers and sponsors. Mr. Kriss began his investment and development career as a Project Manager at The Athena Group.  Mr. Kriss received a B.S. Econ from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

C. Kurt Latchman, Vice President
In 2019, C. Kurt Latchman joined Slate Property Group’s lending arm “SCALE”, a joint venture with The Carlyle Group, and has originated over $2.0B of debt financing across more than 30 transactions. Mr. Latchman specializes in sourcing, originating, underwriting and asset managing stretch senior lending opportunities for multifamily and condo construction loans in the New York City area and all along the East Coast of the US. Prior to joining Slate, Mr. Latchman was an Analyst in JP Morgan’s Investment Bank, where he covered a portfolio of real estate clients for corporate investment banking needs in addition to project level financing. Mr. Latchman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Investments from Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Baruch College.

Celina Kuoch, Head of RE Debt Asset Management
Celina Kuoch joined the Man Group in March 2022 and leads the execution of business plans on the residential debt portfolio (collateralized with single family properties) and multi-family debt portfolio to maximize cash flow and long-term value. Founded in 1783, Man Group is a global, technology-empowered active investment management firm and manages $160+ billion globally. Ms. Kuoch has over 20 years of real estate experience as a real estate asset manager and acquirer with a strategic approach to investing and managing investments. Her experience cross over debt, equity and capital raising. Collectively, she has spearheaded four teams between North America and Asia Pacific, and has successfully acquired and sold $12+ billion of real estate assets. Ms. Kuoch has worked in prior firms such as Barings, Wafra Investment Advisory Group, Lazard and Deutsche Bank. Ms. Kuoch holds a B.A. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a M.S. from New York University Stern School of Business.
