Arts and Culture Committee:
The Arts and Culture Committee identifies, facilitates, and promotes high-quality arts and cultural events and opportunities for the Wharton Club of New York network. Volunteers help connect alumni through the appreciation and enjoyment of art, theater, dance, music, literature, and other cultural experiences.
This opportunity is ideal for alumni with a dedicated interest in connecting with Wharton peers through the appreciation and enjoyment of art, performance, and culture. Wharton peers in the appreciation and enjoyment of art, performance, and culture.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Help identify and select Wharton alumni volunteers to serve on the committee.
- Field incoming inquiries from organizations and alumni interested in hosting or promoting arts and cultural events for Club members.
- Independently identify additional organizations for alumni engagement and build a diverse range of opportunities.
- Hold monthly committee meetings to keep volunteers connected, informed, and productive.
- Help determine which opportunities should be Club-sponsored and which should be posted to the alumni site.
- Oversee Club-sponsored arts and cultural events and ensure volunteer attendance.
- Create and manage subcommittees as needed.
- Draft communications and online postings for Club-sponsored events and opportunities.
- Meet monthly with the VP of Personal Development to share updates and discuss organizational relationships, events, and emerging issues.
Approximately 1–2 hours per week, including meetings, administration, and attendance at events.
Qualifications:
- Current membership in the Wharton Club of New York.
- A genuine passion for the arts and cultural events.
- Preferred: prior leadership experience in arts, performance, or cultural organizations, and/or experience planning, promoting, and executing cultural activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adherence to Club policies, including signing an annual acknowledgement form.
- A commitment to treat this volunteer role with professionalism and responsibility.
