Mission Statement
The Wharton Sustainable Finance and Impact Network (WSFIN) of the Wharton Club of New York offers a platform for alumni to use sustainability and social impact as a tool to make the world a better place, highlighted in the UN SDGs:
 

Launched in February 2024, the goal of WSFIN is multi-pronged:
  1. Provide thought leadership and networking opportunities to Wharton alumni engaged in sustainability and social impact across the spectrum, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Consulting, and Impact Investing.
  2. Engage with industry leaders & network with peers, socialize new ideas & share knowledge, examine trends, opportunities, and challenges as it relates to investing, employment, entrepreneurship, investment advisory & consulting, fundraising, and creating impact.
The topics covered in the network include but not limited to:
  1. Sustainability and climate change in:
    1. Investing and Finance,
    2. Energy,
    3. Mobility,
    4. Manufacturing and heavy industries,
    5. Land use, food, water and agriculture,
    6. Real estate, housing, building and construction, and,
    7. Enabling technologies.
  2. Broader social impact in terms of business impact on society, such as through social enterprises, diversity and inclusion, education, and human rights.
  3. Scalable solutions in relation to sustainability and social impact, e.g., nutrition, health, gender equity, cleantech, sustainable supply chains, carbon capture, carbon credit trading, circular economy, Net Zero transition, etc.
  4. Overall flow of capital in sustainability and social impact for both public and private markets and across both retail (MFO, SFO, HNW and others) and institutional investors.
  5. Platform to explore investments, employment and policies and their impact on climate, social impact, and sustainability.
Activities the network will be involved in are:
  1. Guest speakers and panel discussions, both in-person and online.
  2. Investor series and investment idea sessions.
  3. Happy hour to facilitate informal discussions.
