We are excited to announce the launch of the Wharton Club of New York’s AI Affinity Group (WAIA) — a new professional community for alumni who are curious about, working in, or leading with Artificial Intelligence.

Whether you’re building AI tools, applying them inside your organization, or simply trying to keep up with the pace of change, WAIA is for you.

WAIA is a forum for both AI practitioners and cross-industry leaders to explore how this powerful technology is reshaping business, careers, and society. Our programming will focus on two key tracks: 

• Strategic Insight: Trends in generative AI, industry disruption, regulatory developments, workforce transformation, and national AI strategies
• Practical Application: Case-based demonstrations of AI in action, peer-led “show-don’t-tell” sessions, and guided tool walkthroughs—designed to spark ideas and action regardless of technical background

From fireside chats and industry briefings to tool demos, workshops, and networking mixers, we aim to balance breadth of vision with actionable takeaways. The group will be shaped by its members, and we encourage you to get involved early.

First WAIA Meeting – Save the Date! – Thursday, August 21, 2025 @ 5:00 PM ET - 6:00 PM ET

We’ll be hosting our first virtual organizing session via Zoom on the evening of Thursday, August 21st.

This kickoff session will include: 

• A 30-minute briefing on key AI themes and insights from the 2025 Wharton Global Forum in San Francisco
• Introductions among early WAIA participants
• A collaborative discussion to shape programming priorities for the year ahead
