About the Wharton Restructuring & Distressed Investing Group (WRDI)
Restructuring and distressed investing is a distinct discipline with its own community skill set, and market cycle. Wharton has well-respected alumni across investing, private credit, advisory, law, operating leadership, and entrepreneurship. WRDI provides an opportunity to build a differentiated platform within the Wharton Club of New York that reflects the strength of the community combined with an opportunity to create meaningful dialogue in a time of significant change and disruption.
Who Is Membership Open To?
Membership is open to paid supporting members of the Wharton Club of New York who are interested in credit, special situations, restructurings, turnarounds, stressed and distressed investing, and adjacent fields i.e. private credit, restructuring advisory, and legal/regulatory tied to corporate distress.
What to Expect
There are several types of events that would be valuable for the WRDI community from simple networking events to fireside chats and case studies. Some examples:
- Speaker events with leading alumni discussing the latest topics in distress
- Fireside chats with investors, bankers, lawyers, operators, and CROs
- Networking events for Wharton alumni in distressed, restructuring, private credit, and adjacent fields
- Case studies on turnarounds and complex capital structures
