The VP, General Counsel serves as a legal and governance resource to the Wharton Club of New York. The role provides practical, business-oriented guidance on routine legal and governance matters affecting the Club.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Review agreements, policies, and other Club documents.
• Advise on routine legal, governance, and operational matters affecting the Club.
• Participate in Board and management discussions as appropriate.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance that supports informed Club decision-making.
• Attend VP meetings and respond to ad hoc legal requests.

Time Commitment:
The role is designed to be manageable alongside a full-time legal practice. The commitment includes attendance at VP meetings and responding to ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current membership in the Wharton Club of New York.
• Mid-level attorney with approximately 5–8 years of experience, preferably in corporate law or general commercial practice.
• Prior nonprofit experience is not required, though an interest in nonprofit work is helpful.
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
• Adherence to Club policies, including signing an annual acknowledgement form.
• A commitment to treat this volunteer role with professionalism and responsibility.
