Seeking Volunteers to help start up and run the first-ever WCNY Business Plan Competition!!

The first-ever WCNY Business Plan Competition (BPC) will occur in 2008 with the intention of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the Wharton alumni community and to reward promising early-stage business ventures. The BPC will be an annual competition which will award cash and in-kind services to winners in addition to highly valuable exposure to the WCNY community who represent potential partners, customers, investors, etc. The competition is open to teams with at least one member who is a member of the WCNY. We are seeking volunteers to help with planning for the BPC and welcome anyone interested in making this first BPC a tremendous success. Marketing (publicity, communications, etc).

• Web (website, online content, etc)
• Sponsorships
• Event Planning (conference organizers, booking locations, setting schedules, etc.)

The BPC is a great opportunity for volunteers to network with potential partners and investors, be exposed to innovative business ideas, and demonstrate thought-leadership within Wharton as well as the broader NYC entrepreneurship community. Any level of help is welcome. The BPC operates under the auspices of the Wharton Club Capital Clearing Committee and volunteers will report to Anand Sanwal, the Manager of the Business Plan Competition. Volunteers could expect to help on an as-needed basis and spend up to an average of 2 hours a week depending on your role.

Interested volunteers should indicate their interest in an email to Stephanie Shaw at sshaw@whartonny.com.
