Joseph Wharton Awards Nominations

As you know, the past two Joseph Wharton Dinners were great successes, and we are working hard to ensure that this one will be as well. In that regard, we are contacting you as part of an effort to broaden participation in the dinner, and are inviting you to provide your input in the Awards Selection Process.

We have established a website at www.surveymonkey.com in which you can make recommendations for Award nominees. As a reminder, the categories are:

1. Joseph Wharton Lifetime Achievement Award
Purpose: To recognize the Wharton alumnus who has had tremendous positive and sustained impact on business and society over the course of their careers.
2007 Recipient- Jon M. Huntsman, Founder and Chairman, Huntsman Corporation
2006 Recipient- Alvin Shoemaker, former Chairman, First Boston, Inc.

2. Joseph Wharton Leadership Award
Purpose: To recognize the Wharton alumnus who embodies the highest standards of leadership in both business and society.
2007 Recipient- Steven A. Cohen, Chairman and Founder SAC Capital Advisors, LLC
2006 Recipient- Harold (Terry) McGraw III, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, The McGraw-Hill Companies.

3. Joseph Wharton Young Leader Award
Purpose: To recognize the alumnus who, early in his/her career, has demonstrated the greatest potential for leadership and lasting impact.
2007 Recipient- Aditya Mittal, CFO, Arcelor Mittal
2006 Recipient- Josh Kopelman, Managing Director, First Round Capital

4. Joseph Wharton Social Impact Award
Purpose: To recognize the alumnus who has had the greatest impact in public service, social enterprise or philanthropy.
2007 Recipient- Caren Franzini, CEO, NJ Economic Development Authority.
2006 Recipient- Connie Duckworth, President and Chairman, Arzu, Inc.

The Awards Committee is working on a list of candidates for each award. . We will be accepting nominations until March 31, 2008.
