Affinity Group
48th event
What is the Wharton Hedge Fund Network?
The Wharton Hedge Fund Network (WHFN) was founded in 2005 as an Affinity Group of the Wharton Club of New York (WCNY). The group aims to bring together Wharton alumni active in the greater hedge fund community, which includes professionals working at hedge funds, hedge fund allocators, and dedicated service providers.
Events are by invitation only and limited to Wharton undergraduates and/or Wharton MBA's who are employed in the hedge fund space. For more information on WHFN and past events, please visit the Wharton Hedge Fund Network page.
What is the Next Event?
Our 2nd event of 2014 features a panel on "The (Lost) Art of Short Selling." The panel will walk through the practice, origins, and future of short selling. The challenging market environment for short selling over the last few years and its implications for building and managing a hedge fund business will also be discussed. There will be an opportunity for Q&A.
Our panel includes:
- John Fichthorn, Partner and Co-Founder of Dialectic Capital Management
- Kent Holden, Senior Equity Analyst at 1837 Partners
- Ian Isaacs, Senior Partner at Gagnon Securities
The event will be held Wednesday, June 25th at a Midtown location. (The exact location will be communicated shortly after signing up.) We will not be able to permit walk-ins, replacements or guests.
