What is the Wharton Hedge Fund Network?
The Wharton Hedge Fund Network (WHFN) was founded in 2005 as an Affinity Group of the Wharton Club of New York (WCNY). The group aims to bring together Wharton alumni active in the greater hedge fund community, which includes professionals working at hedge funds, hedge fund allocators, and dedicated service providers.

Events are by invitation only and limited to Wharton undergraduates and/or Wharton MBA's who are employed in the hedge fund space. For more information on WHFN and past events, please visit the Wharton Hedge Fund Network page.

What is the Next Event?
Our third event of the year will be a panel featuring a discussion of the 2016 presidential election and its impact on the hedge fund industry. Political and legal experts along with market participants will discuss topics such as:
  • Potential impact on hedge fund industry economics, including tax proposals
  • Other regulatory considerations such as disclosure requirements, activism, etc.
  • Which candidate is likely to be friendlier to hedge funds? To hedge fund investors?
  • Implications for the economy based on policy intentions/preferences and impacts to various asset classes.
Panelists will include Nicolas Checa, founder of McLarty Associates’ economic and financial advisory practice, Richard Brand, partner at law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, and Ajay Rajadhyaksha, head of macro research at Barclays.

The event will be held Monday, October 17th at a Midtown location. (The exact location will be communicated shortly after signing up.) We will not be able to permit walk-ins, replacements or guests.
