WHFN: China Macro - Anne Stevenson-Yang, J Capital Research

Affinity Group

What is the Wharton Hedge Fund Network?
The Wharton Hedge Fund Network (WHFN) was founded in 2005 as an Affinity Group of the Wharton Club of New York (WCNY). The group aims to bring together Wharton alumni active in the greater hedge fund community, which includes professionals working at hedge funds, hedge fund allocators, and dedicated service providers.

Events are by invitation only and limited to Wharton undergraduates and/or Wharton MBA's who are employed in the hedge fund space. For more information on WHFN and past events, please visit the Wharton Hedge Fund Network page.

What is the Next Event?
We have the pleasure of hosting an evening of discussion around macro trends in China with particular focus on the ongoing trade tensions with the US. Anne Stevenson-Yang and her firm J Capital Research are highly regarded experts on both China macro and Chinese companies. Anne will discuss her current views on China and what investment opportunities she sees as a result. There will be an opportunity for Q&A.

The event will be held Thursday, October 3rd from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at a Midtown Location (to be disclosed after ticket purchase). Sign up closes: Wednesday, October 2nd (or earlier when at max capacity at the event space). No walk-ins, replacements, guests or refunds.

Bio
Anne Stevenson-Yang co-founded J Capital Research in late 2010 and is J Capital's Research Director. J Capital Research publishes highly diligenced research reports on publicly traded companies, relying on deep, on-the-ground primary research. Founded in China in 2010, the company has particular expertise in the Chinese market but looks at over-valued companies throughout the world. Anne was formerly co-founder of a group of online media businesses in China and also founded and operated a CRM software company and a publishing company there. Over 25 years in China, Anne also worked as an industry analyst and trade advocate. Anne authored the 2013 China Alone: China's Emergence and Potential Return to Isolation, arguing that China historically repeats a cycle of expansion and retreat.
