The Wharton Retail Network (WhRN) invites you to an informative meeting about retailing in China led by Pedro Mont Wong (WG'07).

Pedro is a retail executive in Peru and a startup investor and mentor in China.  Pedro's family owns and operates over 120 fashion stores in Peru under the Platanitos (footwear) and Kayser (undergarment) brands and offers 250 additional brands through its website and app, online pick-up lockers, and retail & logistics software.

In addition, Pedro is a mentor to female STEM students in China and a volunteer firefighter.  He currently lives in New York with his wife and children.  Pedro's talk will cover the following retail trends in China during the COVID-19 pandemic:
  • Retail development in China
  • Livestreaming
  • Super apps (Meituan, WeChat, Alipay)
The discussion will be held over Zoom, and space will be limited in order to facilitate group dialogue.
