As a team leader, you may find that returning to work in these trying times is demanding more of you and your team, and in new ways. Not just doing more with less, or putting in more time, but also updating your leadership approach or strategies to effectively navigate the changing conditions, a strained environment, or difficult yet necessary conversations.

The Wharton Club of NY is delighted to invite our Supporting Members to a complimentary coaching series facilitated by Wharton-alums – Nancy Chen and Barbara Deskey. You will join a small group of team leaders for an online series of brief, practical discussions designed to let you pick up team leadership tips and proven practices that you can use right away.

You have the option of attending all three, 1-hour sessions over two weeks’ time for the full series experience or attending any one of the sessions individually. Each session will provide time for theme-based learning (with up to 30 attendees), and for the group to discuss and share ideas on how to apply the learning (up to 15 attendees), led by seasoned, executive coach-facilitators. Bonus: a complimentary 1-on-1 coach-consulting session to help you apply practices to your specific situation.

Sessions will focus on 3 action steps:
  • Thursday, July 9 11am EST (Session Completed): De-Stress. Simple ways to discharge negative emotions and circumstances imposed on you and your team, to pave the way toward better performance. How to avoid a contagion of negative emotions.
  • Tuesday, July 14 11am EST (Session Completed): Reassess. Rethink priorities and strategies. Take stock of your people, stakeholders, and resources to design the go-forward game plan. How to balance productivity with caring. Enrolling others and anchoring your commitments to your unifying purpose.
  • Thursday, July 16 11am EST: Model. What new kind of leader and team is the situation asking you to be? How to resolve conflicting stakeholder agendas and expectations. Maintaining credibility and trustworthiness; influencing team members to perform, collaborate, and lead under new and formidable conditions.
