The WCNCR Climate Change Affinity Group is pleased to invite the Wharton Club of New York to their signature event on climate change. The event will have two eminent speakers presenting on two very important topics:
  • Sanjeev Khagram - Director General, and Dean of Thunderbird School, will talk about his work on market opportunities for climate restoration
  • Brent Habig - Vice President for Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC), will talk about their work with companies such as Apple and H&M on creating sustainable supply chains
The event will be moderated by Arthur van Benthem, Associate Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at Wharton and co-faculty lead of Wharton's Business, Climate, and Environment Lab.

Dr. Sanjeev Khagram is director general and dean of Thunderbird School of Global Management, ASU Foundation Professor of Global Leadership, and a member of ASU's Global Institute of Sustainability's board of directors. He is a world-renowned expert in global leadership, the international political economy, sustainable development, and the data revolution. He has worked extensively with global start-ups, corporations, governments, civil society groups, nonprofit organizations, cross-sectoral action networks, public-private partnerships, foundations, professional associations, and universities worldwide. Dr. Khagram holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and Engineering, and a master’s degree and doctorate in Political Economy, all from Stanford University.

Mr. Brent Habig leads ISC’s international portfolio of programs that accelerate climate action and catalyze equitable and inclusive economic growth in cities and supply chains across Asia. Brent is a respected leader and public speaker in both the environment and international development fields, with expertise in climate change, sustainability, corporate partnerships, value chain development, entrepreneurship, and access to finance. Prior to ISC, Brent was Vice President for West and Southern Africa at TechnoServe, where he managed a USD$32M annual portfolio of 40+ projects accelerating market-based economic development.
