Wharton Club of NY Career Development team is pleased to launch our CEO Talks series designed to help you gain insights into our spotlight CEO’s career path and the drivers for their success.

We’re pleased to be launching this series with Dr. Maria Maccecchini, Founder and CEO of Annovis Bio, a publicly-traded biotech company focused on developing drugs for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to running her company, she lectures at Wharton on innovation and entrepreneurship and invests in early-stage start-ups.

We’ll start the discussion with Dr. Maccecchini’s career journey from researcher to biotech CEO and investor and the lessons she’s learned along the way. We’ll then open it to the group for Q&A. This is a great opportunity for you to hear her perspective on entrepreneurship, general management, innovation, and investing.

About Dr. Maria Maccecchini
Dr. Maccecchini founded Annovis in May 2008 to develop better therapeutics for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. She is currently its President, CEO, and Executive Board member. Was partner and director of two angel groups, Robin Hood Ventures and MidAtlantic Angel Group; Founder and CEO of Symphony Pharmaceuticals/Annovis a biotech company that sold in 2001 to Transgenomic; General Manager of Bachem Bioscience, the US subsidiary of Bachem AG, Switzerland and Head Molecular Biology Mallinckrodt; Dr. Maccecchini did one postdoc at Caltech and one at the Roche Institute of Immunology, her PhD in biochemistry is from the Biocenter of Basel with a two-year visiting fellowship at The Rockefeller University.
