This event is hosted by the Wharton Entrepreneurs - Education and Resource Network (WE-EARN).
AI is reshaping entire industries, putting pressure on incumbents already burdened with inflation, tariffs, and other macroeconomic uncertainty. Ironically, as capital has rushed into AI, many struggling AI startups are experiencing their own distress—creating favorable M&A opportunities. These forces are creating a unique window for astute investors and agile operators who know how to source, value, and reposition distressed businesses.
Join us as Jeff Anapolsky and Peter Nesvold—co-authors of The Art of Distressed M&A: Buying, Selling, and Financing Troubled & Insolvent Companies—offer practical insights and proven strategies for turnarounds, workouts, and underperformers.
About the Speakers:
Jeff Anapolsky (C’93, W’93, Harvard JD/MBA ‘99) is Managing Director of Anapolsky Advisors, a boutique consultancy specializing in turnarounds, special situations, and unconventional assets. He provides interim leadership, fundraising support, and transaction advisory services to growth-stage ventures and distressed companies. Jeff has served as interim CEO, CFO, and CRO across multiple private equity-backed rollups and operating businesses, as well as an Adjunct Professor at the Jones School of Business at Rice University.
Peter Nesvold (C’93, Fordham Law ’97) is Managing Partner of Nesvold Capital Partners, a leading merchant bank. A seasoned M&A advisor, Peter has over 25 years of experience advising CEOs, boards, and fiduciaries on transactions, succession, and strategy. Peter is an Adjunct Professor at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, the author of four books on M&A published by McGraw-Hill, and an active member of multiple fiduciary and advisory boards.
